The Paradox called life
There are moments when
All I have is all I wanted
Yet there are moments when
I can’t stop thinking of that mauve attire I always wanted
There are moments when
I wish time would stand still
Yet there are moments when
Life seems like an endless journey uphill
There are moments when
I watch the squirrel nibbling at a pear
Yet there are moments when
There is no time to stand and stare
There are moments when
I am on the top of the world
Yet there are moments when
Everything seems tangled and curled
There are moments when
Nothing else matters
Yet there are moments when
Ignoring trivialities ends me in tatters
There are moments when
Giving is the greatest joy
Yet there are moments when
I ingenuously cling to my favorite toy
There are moments when
I feel triumphant when I buy in a discount sale
Yet there are moments when
Losing money in income tax is a woeful tale
There are moments when
I can splurge on a pair of fancy boots
Yet there are moments when
I refuse to pay an extra rupee to the urchin selling fruits
There are moments when
All I wish is an introduction to that special some one
Yet there are moments when
I choose to ignore an enthusiastic wave and run
There are moments when
The world seems like one big joyous family
Yet there are moments when
It seems everyone has a conspiracy theory
There are moments when
Devouring a sizzling brownie sundae can make my day
Yet there are moments when
Nothing can make me smile – not even the award winning comedy play
There are moments when
Seeing new places takes me to a new high
Yet there are moments when
When giving directions to my house away I shy
There are moments when
When life is cruising in fifth gear
Yet there are moments when
An earthquake makes me feel so vulnerable and full of fear
There are moments when
I thank God for the numerous blessings
Yet there are moments when
I envy the girl with the golden voice girl who sings
There are moments when
Against people’s greed, my frustration I vent
Yet there are moments when
I use my company phone to my heart’s content
There are moments when
Sweet memories linger like a strong perfume
Yet there are moments when
Why minutes don’t pass during a power cut I fume
There are moments when
Even a page of economics I can’t get myself to read
Yet there are moments
I can’t keep that pulp fiction book unfinished
There are moments when
I valiantly wipe my grand mother’s tears dry
Yet there are moments when
An unfinished assignment makes me cry
I always wonder about the paradox called life
The joys, the sorrows and the strife
The day and the night
The darkness and the light
All sorts of feelings we are to relish and abhor
Without which in life’s journey we cannot soar.
All I have is all I wanted
